Effective September 2026. Mileagetastic is published by Votivigy LLC.
The short version
We do not collect your data. Mileagetastic has no account, no server of ours that your trips are sent to, no advertising, and no analytics. Your trips stay on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage, which we cannot see.
Location
Mileagetastic reads your location in two situations only: while a trip you started is recording (including with the screen locked, so the distance is measured for the whole drive), and when you tap "Current location" while adding a trip. It asks for "While Using the App" permission and never for "Always". The recorded path is stored with the trip on your device and, if iCloud is on for Mileagetastic, in your own iCloud. It is never sent to us.
Apple services the app uses
Address search, routes, maps, and turning a location into an address are provided by Apple Maps. Those requests go from your iPhone to Apple under Apple's privacy policy. iCloud sync, if you use it, is between your devices and Apple.
Mileage rates
About once a day the app downloads a small file of IRS standard mileage rates from this website. The request contains no identifier and nothing about you or your trips. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs of requests, such as the IP address and the time.
Reports and email
Reports are created on your iPhone. When you email or share one, it is sent by you, from your own mail account or the app you choose. Mileagetastic never sends email itself and we never receive your reports. The email address and name you enter in Settings are stored only on your device and, if iCloud is on for Mileagetastic, in your own iCloud.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the only one the app posts is a reminder, created on your iPhone, when a recording trip appears to have been left running.
Subscription
Your first 10 trips are free. After that, adding or changing trips needs a subscription, which you buy from Apple inside the app. Apple handles the payment under Apple's privacy policy; we never see your name, your payment details, or your Apple Account. The app asks your iPhone whether the subscription is active, and that answer stays on your iPhone. A count of how many trips you have kept is stored on your device and, if iCloud is on for Mileagetastic, in your own iCloud. With or without a subscription you can always view your trips, send reports, and delete trips.
Deleting your data
Delete any trip in the app. To remove everything at once, use Delete All Data at the bottom of Settings: it permanently deletes every trip, tag, favorite location, and setting from your iPhone, from your iCloud, and from your other devices. The count of how many trips you have kept is not reset. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the iPhone.
Children
Mileagetastic is not directed to children and collects no information from anyone.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@votivigy.com; anything else about the app to support@votivigy.com.
